Summer Youth Leadership Academy - SYLA (Middletown)

Our 15th Annual SYLA (Summer Youth Leadership Academy) will have two one-week sessions.
Session 1: July 6th - 10th in Newburgh
Session 2: July 20th - 24th in Middletown

This 1-week program aims to inspire and empower anyone in grades 9-12 to learn and speak up about racism, bullying, gender oppression, and the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships while also learning how to create change in your community.

The program will meet in person from 10 am - 4 pm, where students will engage with Fearless! educators and their peers through deep conversations, team building, and hands-on activities.

Enrollment is free and open to all Orange and Sullivan County high school students.

Participants will receive 30 hours of community service and a letter of recommendation for college and/or employment.

Registrations for all academies will be due by Friday, June 26th

Participants will be notified of acceptance by Wednesday, July 1.

  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
